shock absorbers

Featured Replies

I was just wondering how much of a difference shock absorbers would make on my polo 9n..i currently have it lowered 50mm on Eibach pro spring kit..on 17inch RS8's but even with this theres still quite a gap between the arches and wheel. Would the shock absorbers make the gap less??

Cheers

They're called dampers,and you've already got them.

I take it you mean uprated dampers instead of the standard ones? Well they'll make virtually no difference to the ride height - the springs govern this.

Uprated items will generally tighten and firm the ride and handling up a touch more.

I think what i mean is...without replacing the springs is there any other way 2 lower the ride of the car?

no, every way involves replacing parts of the suspension. either just buy new springs, or you could buy coilovers which allow the ride height to be adjusted, some even allow the damping to be adjusted as well but you'll pay for them!

Do you not have any spring compressors? is that why you dont want to just change springs?
