I hate getting into my car on a cold morning and not able to see anything out my mirrors. I'm lazy and don't fancy stretching over to the passenger side to clean the mirror, and anyway when you clean them they just smudge.

So - are there any heated alternatives? Any high spec Mk3s come with them? What about Mk2s, I know some of them were pretty well specced up?

Or Scirocco, Golf, whatever? Any ideas?

its well easy to do mate.

the heated glass works by putting a current through an element in the glass

= a positive and negative connection.

use two wires and attach them to your heated rear window wiring.

the only dificult part about this mod is where to run the wire!

i sheathed mine and run it through with the adjustment cables.

if i remember correctly i used fiesta glass which was glued/bodged onto the original holder.

Hmm interesting.. I had thought about mk2 golf ones but apparently (and not surprisingly!) they don't fit. Do you remember which fiesta it was from? I guess apart from the shape of the glass it doesn't really matter what car you get it from?

Great, thanks! I'll make a template of the inside of the wing mirrors and hopefully take it round the scrappy at the weekend, see what I can find!

I found a rocco in a breakers with heated mirrors! Just to let people know...
