Hi all,

thought it was about time I posted up some pics of my G40 since I've had it for about 3months now!

Anyway its a 1992 with just under 62k on the clock. It has full VW service history too. It was standard when I got it except for these wheels and the backbox thats on it.

The current spec:

Jabba r-1 spec charger (bought this because mine blew when I got it)

PSD toothed belt kit

Derestricted airbox

boost return mod

HnR 60/40 cup car kit

Debadged grille

clear indicators

smoked side repeaters

late spec rear lights

removed rear wiper

I do have some plans for it. Within the next couple of months its gonna have:

De-cat and full exhaust from longlife

PSD chip

Possibly G60 injectors

Genuine mk3 mats, these will be here next week

I'm also waiting for the wilwood 4pots to go on sale as I want a set when they're ready and I have the money!

luvly colour!bet it cost a few bob with such a low miliage

got it for a decent price i think actually. Off a guy who didnt really know what it was. He knew they were pretty rare but dont think he realised how rare! plus a relative of his gave it to him for a stupid price, something like £1000 apparently.

Looking good! Will look loads better once that exhaust has gone

It's a LOT quicker than the sport. I'm not sure on exact power, think someone told me it should be around 125-130 bhp now with the charger toothies and de-restricted airbox. But if I'm wrong, someone please correct me. I know its been very even with my mates clio sport 172 and my bro's remapped 1.8T A3 up to about 90, then they're quicker.

Not sure on wheels yet. I'm gonna try get all the engine sorted in the next couple of months, then I'm thinking about saving to get it resprayed next year. Have to see how it goes.

Pefromance sounds nice tbh, clio 172s are rapid accleration wise so cant be a bad thing.

All about engine mods on a g, free the power out of the engine... Youd be looking at 140-150 bhp when youve done?

Yeah from what I've read on here I'd imagine it'll be up near 150bhp I hope! Again, if someone has a better idea, then please let me know. I'm pretty new to G40's so not really sure.

It sounds amazing! Exhaust is fairly quiet at the moment but fancy having the new one a bit louder. The main noise you hear is the charger whining though! Gotta love the toothies....And then the noise from the boost return is nice too.

Update.....

Since last weekend, I've had a few extra things done to the car:

New in tank and inline fuel pumps

blue temp sender

accelerator cable

clutch cable

jabbasport induction kit

GT inlet manifold

Raceland 4 branch

Longlife manifold back exhaust with 2 1/2" slash cut pipe

G60 injectors

PSD chip

I've been told it should be around 150bhp now, but if I'm wrong then please do say.

The exhaust sounds pretty nice, has no cat and no centre box but it isn't too loud. Tailpipe is nice and subtle too.

I've also bought some doorpods off vwmk3jon which need some work but they'll be going in as they are for the winter then I'll sort them out in the new year ready for the shows!

I'll try get some updated pics up soon enough.

its royal metallic blue. Looks nice. Just cant wait for the nice weather again....and possibly fresh paint next year!

The wheels are some oz wheels. Not sure what ones, they were on the car when I bought it.

glad to see u get teh injectors fitted! i would 150 would be a bit conservative guess. my old pone was 128 with just a filter and catback system. You should get it on the rollers.

As for the exhaust, it's now gone thank god. I bought the car with it on. Now has a nice subtle tailpipe.

Yeah I wanna get it on the rollers in the new year to see what its running.
