does anyone know how to take the rivets out the arches on a mk3

They're best drilled out. You just want a drill bit thats slightly larger than the hole in the head of the rivet.

Usually with rivets,yeah. But i actually found its better to use a fair size bit,i used 6mm. This way,you only drill the head off,then simply poke the remaining stem out with a thin phillips screwdriver.

I tried a 4mm first,but it gripped into the stem and just spun round in the panel - made worse if there's any rust there.

and it chews the hole around the rivet.
