Painting my VW Badge

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

I'm looking to paint my front VW badge black.

What is the best stuff to use? and Does it need priming first?

Let me know if you know.

Many thanks

you will need plastic primer, then you can use normal spray paint.if you just want it black though, why not just sand the chrome paint off with p1200 wet or dry paper used wet, then buff it up with t-cut

..and keep the chrome in the sides. Could look good. But i dont think the plastic is black - virgin plastic is neutral, why would they dye it black and then chrome it? Even made of highly recycled plastic, its not likely to be black underneath.

its very black underneath (well my one was!) I've done a badge in this way cos i was too lazy to paint it.

saw 1 on ebay for £3 with £3 postage.

might be better getting that and selling yours, pays for itself :)
