Should i just bodge it and file down the metal (dodgey) or do i try and move it, or maybe look for a smaller caliper like maybe off a lupo or sumet???

Why did you buy 12 inch wheels? 13's would have been a better idea. You can't really move the caliper down as it has to sit in line with the disk...as for smaller calipers the Polo one is small as it is...

Lupo ones are 239 at the smallest, same as Polo.

If you run 13s with low profile tyres it screws your gear ratios right up, so I'm guessing 12s will be even worst. Plus you'll never get it low enough to look good.

Personally I'd just sell them on. I mean you can shave the caliper, but not massive amounts. Not enough to get 12s on anyway

I've looked into this. A competent engineers could get the bolt holes on the carrier shifted a few millimeters in order to take the caliper further in,and they could trim that few mm from the disc. Then a mild shave on the inside of the pad to clear the hub,and you're there.

But its alot of work,the brakes will be even worse,and you wont get insured.

They do fit...just, dont roll/move lots.

And tbh if i put it low enough it would scrape but it would have better acceleration and look sexy low.

Correct width, diameter, offsets, PCD and centerbore....and look better than the Mini ones too.

Yeah,if you're gonna put 12s on,you at least wanna put some on that look good - like some deep dish Revolites.

But there's only one tyre available lower profile than 165x60x12 (which is only 0.5% smaller tread circumference than a 175x50x13) and thats a very expensive semi-slick Yoko 165x55x12 (which is 3.7% smaller,and so much smaller than standard that you'll be at about 5k rpm at 70mph).

The MK1 Fiesta had 12s.

You could do it using spacers. There's more room in the wheel further back - so much so,that some have ran 280mm discs with 6-pot ally calipers in 13s. But the offset is already far out with a mini fitment,it'd be terrible with 30mm spacers.

you can 280s under 14s using spacers, so you could shave a few mms off the caliper or space the wheel out...

Fair play for being different and trying something hardly any one else dares, but..to make those 12's look any wer near decent you are car is going to pretty much be on its bollocks to reduce that HUGE arch gap!
