I've recently gotten a little confused as i'd thought that front number plates had to be the same size and spacing as the rears, but ie seen so many cars on the road with either tiny ones on the left front of the bumper, and some with any, alot with them in the window (smoothed front recesses ) etc....

So I was wondering what is the law on front plates - are these people just chancing it when it comes to getting pulled etc?

If you think it makes enough of an improvement looks wise to have the possibility/probability of being pulled everytime you go out on the road then its your call!

I haven't ran my plate for nearly a year! and only got pulled twice both 30 quid fines, but one was cos it was german plates and not in the window!

And recently in the course of 1 week, i got pulled 4 times!!!!! TWICE IN ONE DAY

haha, i got pulled today, for not having a front plate on, gave me a £30 fine, went to back of the car and asked me if it was german registerd, i wa like na lol he said it was ok though :S yet i got puled the other week and got a producer and mot producer thing for not havin plate on and told me the rear number plate was illegal

Basically almost anything other than standard is illegal, ie incorrect spacing, various type faces/fonts, patterned backgrounds, sizes of letters, trying to make numbers look like letters, german style plates, etc etc etc.

They class it as trying to interfere with police business or deceive / dodge the law, ie why do you need to make you plate look like something else..."are you hiding something?".

So cynical them.... what a shame :p! are they're any policemen(&women) who appreciate modifying Would be a nice change wether their doing their jobs or not! Cheers for the info and that too!
