I don't know what JDM or UKDM stands for. I assume J is for Japanese and Uk is United Kingdom.

It's a genuine UK spec one, some of the Japanese ones may have leather trim but for some reason have less horsies than the Uk ones with less mpg and cost twice as much to insure, plus the Japanese ones have gay badges and a square number plate which will no doubt attract a lot of police attention.

Talkign about the police, I have driven past police cars, been following police cars and been followed by police cars, they haven't bat an eye lid. Had I been in my polo I would probably have been pulled over, had I been in my scirocco I would have been pulled over, no question as I was every time I went near a police car.

import plates don't attract police attention, i've had no probs with mine on my ek9.

also the eunos roadster JDM model has a very small rectangular recess which an import plate JUST fits in so the police can't say nout as theres no way a standard plate would fit

The police around here will pick up and question anything, the standard front brakes on my mk2 Polo were in question as to whether they were standard and legal. I painted the tail pipe black on it, just a standard exhaust and that was reffered to as an undeclared "sports exhaust."

The Scirocco was the worst for police attention, arch trims, spolier and skirts, all standard. Almost every day, sometimes twice a day I was pulled over. Absolutely anything and everything on that car was used as a reason to pull me over, including the factory tinted rear lights being accused of being sprayed and not emiting a clear colour.

They will probably just claim that the recess has been modified.

Is the DM domestic market? :?

Looks tidy quincent 8-) are you going to mod it?

NO mods planned yet, just restore to factory spec and make sure everything is running as it should be before mods are planned.

I can paint and polish the wheels, or replace them with other Mazda MX5 wheels or replicas but no aftermarket wheels or suspension otherwise it is no longer eligable for the classic insurance under my name.

A longlife air filter box element such as K&N are allowable but no cone filters, although I prefer the noise from the box anyway and will probably use the cheaper part, genuine Mazda or K&N long life as both have long lasting guarantees.

very nice turn around there! what products used? :)
