Have you tried using Turtle wax Colour Magic. Comes with a chip stick too for little stone chips. Used it on all my cars of various colours including 2 red ones i used to have. worked wonders.

thats what i use now. I try to polish it once a week... It's hard to keep on top of it because theres a building site near us and the car is covered in dirt/dust in no time.:(

i used the turtle stuff on my old old mk2 (going back some years!) because the roof was going pink! Worked wonders although i don't think much to the chipstick they supply with it! Womens lipstick would probably do a better job!

T-cut to get the orignal colour back then use Megs or Mer. I use the Megs 3 stage when polishing... 1; Paint Cleaner, 2: Polish and 3: Carnuba Wax. Will gove you one of the deepest, best shines ever but takes all fooking day (no joke, its a 5-6 hr job for Golf sized car)

I find T-Cut Metallic works better,if the car isnt completely matt pink,as the original stuff is a bit hardcore. Then Autoglym resin polish.

Remember that these are all cutting compounds,which leave your paint naked and unprotected - you need a hard shell of wax over the shiny paint.

Whether you live by a building site,park in direct sunlight,under trees,or just generally anywhere but a dark heated garage 24 hours a day,whatever.

my bro's cough**punto**cough was pink and we spent a full day t-cutting and polishing that with smioniz stuff and it came up shiney as fook! luckily my car hasnt faded so i use spray detailer on it

i use MER works a treat :)

best thing really is to get somone with a porta cable polisher. makes it so much easier. used this on my newly aquired pink/red mk3, i had 3 poishing pads that ended up bright red and the finish is stunning.

if its pink,your really better just buffing it

If you start with Autoglym SRP and if that doesn't restore the colour then I find that Autoglym Paint restorer works wonders. The good thing about the Autoglym stuff is that it works really well by hand.

I really wouldn't recommend T-Cut as it is very abrasive and can take loads of paint/clearcoat off. Go a bit OTT with it and you can find that you are taking all your clear coat off!!

Well i have just got my old red car back and its more pink now.... so to restore it to its former glory i will be doing the following (I will also do it twice a year ready for winter and summer)

Wash

then to treat the paint :-)

Red colour polish (can't remember name off hand, think colour magic)

Autoglym super resine polish

Megs deep crystal polish

Wolfgang deep gloss selant

followed by two coats of Poorboys nattys red.

then for general washing

Wash and then spray with Poorboys Quick wax and dry

Once a month i will put a layer of wax over it.

when i first got mine, it was faded. so i bought some t-cut, done that, and i use normal autoglym polish. seems to do it for me.

what i did with mine when it was really milky it was neally white i buffed it up to a decent shine then gave it a t-cut then used a tech-wax from meguirs its come up so nice and shiney

i like it and it hasnt faded again since a full days work

I've always found that autoglym works a treat, i wash mine with just water and no detergents which works well then if its faded give it a coat of paint restorer, and 2 - 3 coats of resin polish and it shuines like new, this worked on my faded Mk 4 Polo roof :-D
