Just a quickie......is it sprayed with satin or has it just not been flatted and buffed yet? Just getting some knowledge for my MK1 Derby.

Cheers,

Chris.

It is satin paint (wanted matt but dad ordered the wrong paint....and to too late to change it once he had covered this!) but i guess it don;t rely matter! and it matches the bonnet better!

Olly,

Hi Chris; Ollys old man here- I got the paint from here

We used military paint to spray his green breadvan (got it from a LandRover show) It was so easy to work with & covered so well, thought that would use the same stuff again. (Celly being hard to get now) The sellers were really helpful-they do a huge range of colours in matt/satin/gloss & its dead easy to spray on-we used it straight from the tin. I like the 'ratty' look & after all the project is only a tin-opener job for looning about in & not for concours! We chose Nato desert sand & are getting some 'desert rat' decals made up. Only thing is now weve painted it,it looks like a blo@dy Camel Trophy Landy.....HoHum

Thanks for all the interest/comment/motivation.......& yes I wish we'd put the number plate below where the bumpers going to be.......

Loving this project, the rear boot door as the back of the cabin works so well, almost makes it look like its factory. Good work matey.

Looks great  love the desert sand.

I would like to get a 2 light straight (with no badge) grill for it

I am sure I have a couple of single headlight grilles in the garage (with badge though)

Both pipes work, just the single box in the middle of the system - it sounds quality! might even get a vid for you guys to have a listen!

Sorry its been a while since any new pictures! Christmas and everything! It is just about done now - MOT booked for Friday, and it just needs the bed cover making up. The plans have changed slightly over the corse of the project....as they uashaly do! I will get some better pics soon.

Olly.

I think you can still get those as a repair panel. Saw a polo with one on once.
