i noticed you said the dials are a straight swap on the later dials as i have them... and the plug is a straight swap so if i was to get hold of a valver unit with the new style dials i could then get one of your kits???

but its just finding a set of valver dials :(

Yes, that's correct. Newer style clocks are a straight swap in.

I've now been informed the earlier clocks are not a straight swap as the plugs on the rear are different. I would advise to check the plug socket on the back of your clocks...as the newer style clocks have a BLUE plug socket. It may still be possible to swap them over as they have many wires in common please check a Haynes manual to be sure for yourselves

Please check the first page as there are a multitude of permutations I couldn't possible have enough sets of clocks to get pictures of them all.

Most people go for just Blue.

Oh you are correct... My bad.

How much would it be for this set up? (Them exact colours)

If you intend to keep you car for a while I would suggest getting a newer set of clocks if yours is and 8v there's plenty around expect to pay between £20-45.

I picked a set up off eBay for £25 delivered so it's not an expensive mod.

With regards to the Rev counter the set I got off eBay revs to 5k which is not a problem as the rev pulses are picked up by the clocks and read accurately just make sure the speedo goes to 120mph for 8v and 140mph for the valver.

Backlit clocks are more modern looking and better lit for night driving and produce less glare as the light is diffused through the dial face material. The connections on the back are the same whether older clocks or newer clocks and are a straight swap.

The cost of getting coloured foil or going for an LED mod of older clocks will not produce the same results as the pics on the 1st page so with the cost and effort considered...I don't think it's worth it when a set of newer clocks is within reach with so many 6n's being broken.

I used 10 of them on top to shine on the dials and two under each counter... It's not such a hard job compared to heater dials and electric mirror switch. Gluck mate.

quick pic, shite quality may i add!

Switches are quite easy to do you won't struggle with that. Heater kit is a little harder but if you can do your dials, it shouldn't be a problem.
