My Son has a little cash to spend on his Polo. Has a "Match" square running on 145/80/13 genuine standard fit alloys but has seen a Halfords" special deal. Will the car take 195/50/15 without any mods. PLEASE let us know .....

Sorry but just to add - what would be a suitable wheel & tyre combo for either 14 inch or 15 inch rims??

Put simply - no. Not without archwork. 195/45-15s would be pushing it on a square, and the extra 5% profile on the 50s is gonna mean it's a no go I'm afraid.

165/50s or 165/45 are a must for running 15s on a mk3 polo squareback

I work for Halfords and the tyres on them 15" deals are 195/50/15's way too big! Plus the tyres are crap!
