Longer wheel bolts (for 15mm spacers)

Featured Replies

I bought some winter shitter wheels of shebay but I want to space the back ones out a bit. I have some 15mm spacers but I don't have any longer bolts for them. I heard somewhere that you can use Mercedes bolts for them so while I was down the yard anyway I kept my eyes open for some Mercs. I saw two, the first one was a C-class and it had tiny little bolts in, possibly smaller than standard VW. Then I saw a bigger old Merc, can't remember what model now but I undid the wheel bolt and although it was longer, it was an odd one. It had a small amount of thread at the end and then the seat was about half way up the bolt and the end was where you put the nut on. But there was a 2/3cm gap between the thread and the seat then between the seat and the top part of the nut.

I'm slightly confused as to what Merc bolts I'm supposed to be looking out for? I could just buy some bolts but would rather just pikey some for pence from the scrappy than fork out for ones when I don't have to. My wheels still haven't arrived so it not like I can bolt them on straight away anyway....

Cheers.

I've got 16 long bolts brand new with 50mm threads, would probably be perfect... they cost me 32 quid for the lot :o and i just went for the biggest size without checking and they are fully too long to fit my wheels as I'm only running 8mm spacers

whoops

make me an offer for the beasties and they are yours and you can pikey away with a hacksaw to chop em to size if they need to be shorter, they're all silver too and the proper seat for aftermarket wheelios

woop

Well I'm not sure what Merc bolts you need but the standard bolts are 23.5mm so you'll be looking for ones around 35mm like these :)

ring wheelrite and ask for john give him what your after and hell tell and supply you whith what you need number is 01775 840180

Went to the scrapyard today and they had another Merc in so I popped one of the bolts out and whaddya know? They happened to be the right ones. So got the lot of them off it, also found a set of 13" steelies with brand new Goodyear tyres on them. My sisters 6N needs new tyres ideally so a matching set of Goodyears wasn't going a miss. So wheels, centre caps and bolts all for £20. Canny fooking complain!

fuckin a! you tight geordie git :D that was reet bargain
