just wondering what the script is for you car being lowered when put through an mot? will it pass if its lowered, or is there a 'rule' on how low your car is before they'll fail it???? cheers for any info :-)

there is a ground clearance rule but its stupidly low most garages would refuse to test it if its to low as it wont go in the brake rollers

there must be no fowlling of the tyres on the arch either

From what i have heard there is no set rule which states how low you can go, but if the garage can't get it on their ramps, then its a fail. There are some garages scattered across the country with ramps that are recessed into the ground and so therefore can accommodate silly low cars.

The place i worked for would only fail it if it would not fit on the ramp or rollers!

when I worked in a MOT centre if the car couldnt get on the ramps then it never got tested.

if i just pain £50 for a failurte sheet without my car getting checked i would be livid

I'm on 60/40 drop and i got on the rollers no problem, was pretty close though. Got an advisory for the loweredness as it can affect the handling or some shit like that..........

i got mine MOT'd at daily ride height...

the garage has a pit... and for the brake test they drove it round the block and used a decelerometer :grin:
