Took my polo for its MOT today an guess what, it was to low to get on the ramp and got wedged lol! Looks like I'm putting on the 30mm lowering springs tomorow lol (its gonna be higher than a stoner) Has anyone else had this problem and how have you got round it?

always have this problem at garages, best thing to do is take 2 bits of scafoold board cut down to make it less steep, haven't tried it myself but i've seen it done!

go to another garage or go back to that one and tell them they are retards

as for higher than a stoner... i beg to differ

have this problem with the golf but the splitter just bends under the car so tell them to force it up bit of a night mare sometimes

Jack car up,insert the solid rubber inserts into the coil spring,lower jack back down and result - car sits an inch higher. Takes less time than a brew.

haha the garage i took my car to for its MOT to recently were a bunch of jokers... I'm pretty sure they couldnt be arsed doing my car.

Apparently the couldnt even get it in the garage let alone the fucking ramps haha.

The car is only on a 60/40 kit.

I asked on my local forum for a garage that could suit a low car and sorted, they did it no bother.

find a garage with a pit as apposed to ramps.....shouldnt have a problem them

garage near me were apparently used to it! Had ready made ramps just in case!

My local garage has a 'sunken' MOT ramp so thats a bonus but the metal lip the main door rolls along

causes a problem sometimes. BUt again there more than willing to remove the front bumper to get it on.

They could reverse the car up the ramp but that depends what youve taken the car to the garage for, MOTs

need the steering pads to be used and yep, there only at one end. So car must be driven on nose 1st. Shame.

I go to specialist VW guys and they're pretty much always staffed by enthusiasts so tend not to mind too much (esp. Midland VW; sunken post lifts FTW)

but then again I'm only down about 50mm

Too low is when you can't get your foot under the front splitter

Think I'm gonna have 2 get ma self some of them spring assisters although i have changed the springs this time, an its d day again tomorow night but I'm going 2 a diffrent garrage this time as well, apparently though the other problems were that it wouldnt go on the rollers for the brake test( it got stuck and had to be jacked out!) and the headlight adjuster wouldnt go down low enough anyway lets hope she flys through cos I'm having to use my mums car at the mo Good old uncle festa power!!!!

I have the same problem..I have to remind the local garage that they need the MOT ramp to do the work as it cant get onto any of other 5 they have. Only downside is they have to go over the brake rollers and my car twats off that! If they break somethin i'll make em sort it!
