Ok, how to I take the gear knob off as I want to get a new knob and gaiter cos the current one is worn and has a nik out of the knob itself. I can see how the gaiter is elasticated around the base and underneath I see a metal press/squished clip but not sure what do do...........

on the underside of the knob there should be a small o ring style piece of metal with a cut out of 1 end take this off and the knob will pull off when i fitted my ibiza one i binned the ikle metal o ring thing and used a jubilee clip as imo it will get a better grip and when i first tried refitting the metal o ring the knob could still be moved

are you modifying your car? if so then before you buy a new std one i would get a oem+ one. i did anyway, mine split so i upgraded to ibiza knob i did this becase it has red writing in the end and matches my interior lighting so maybe upgrade appropriatly with your taste?

Thanks, but not modding just replacing with the same...... £20 + vAT from vag parts. ALthough do you have a pic of yours installed, might not look out of place in an unmodded car.

the pics are abit crap as the camera is auto setting so its reflects of everything and therefore makes the knob look faded and worn its not it looks new...

aso there isent a dodgy mark on the passengers seat.. i have no idewa what that is lol
