Brake caliper trouble!

Featured Replies

Just bought all new discs and pads for my mk6 but i'm having loads of trouble with the left hand rear caliper, can't seem to compress the piston enough to get it back on, it goes just past half way then goes solid! any ideas why?

what are you using to push the caliper back in? you can get caliper rewind tools from any motor factors for sub 10 quid

failing that breaking bar horizontally over the piston and push with equal force of either side of teh bar, however i cannot take any responsiblity if you get smakced in the face with teh breaker bar or damage the piston!

caliper rewind tools ftw

if you do have one and your still having problems I'm not too sure

the rears MUST be wound in... they cant be pushed back in as the handbrake mech is in them

if you do manage to push em in they'll prob be fu*ked when u try and get em to wrk

Cheers bud, didn't realise you had to wind them in, think it needs replacing anyway because now the hand brake won't work on that side! :x
