as title suggests, I'm wanting to upgrade my brakes (as standard set up isnt really the best!) and was wondering whats the best thing to do? would it be pointless to get grooved or drilled disks? or just some 'performance' pads maybe, like green stuff or something?

also, where is the best place to go for brake upgrades?

erm

what car do you have?

personally get some fresh discs, standard discs are fine, no real need for vented or x drilled, some pagid fast road pads or something similar

change the brake fluid and properly bleed the brakes

re-adjust rear drums or discs and handbrake cable

gsf or euro car parts for parts

do some searches too its all been asked and covered,,,

Agree with above. New disk, good pads (EBC, Pagid, Tarox, etc). Re-new brake fluid and get new hoses. Hoses are the main cause of poor brake feel. You'll be amazed what enw hoses wil do the feel and performance of the brakes, combined with new fuild it feel much better.

Also, give the calipers and slides a good service and make sure ts all free and opertaing smoothly.
