Right I put my car through an MOT last week or the week before I forget now but it came back with a list of problems all of which have been sorted now except one.

On the sheet it said "Steering coloumn movement between the shaft and steering wheel"

Now this has confused me because on the road the car feels fine the steering is very positive with good feel.

When I was playing with the car earlier today I was looking at all the steering bits in hope to find something standing out as being majorly wrong but I cant. Also when I move the steering wheel the wheels are very quick to turn and as far as I can see no play at all everything seems very tight.

So anyway if I was to put the car back to the MOT centre like this all the bits fixed except this one would there be a chance of it passing as the 'problem' isn't noticable at all if it even exists.

if you pull the steering wheel towards you, does it move? Check the pinch nut thingy which attaches the column tube to the steering rack. It's right down next to the bulk head at the top of the pedals, bit awkward to get to but not too bad. Make sure the bolt on that is nice and tight. Also make sure the actual steering wheel nut is tight!

The steering wheel is solid as f*ck, was pulling on it for ages as hard as i could and no movement.

That nut at the bottom next to the pedals is now tight as f*ck too, was a bit loose but not much.

Also steering wheel bolt is very solid.
