9n rear wiper

Featured Replies

Seen a thread on here before about 9n rear wipers missing a circle in the middle of the screen. GF's did this - but the wiper was properly worn out... So, a trip to Halfrauds later, we had a spangly new wiper... Put it on outside the shop... And it still left a circle! :-( ... Looked like a footbal print straight in the middle of the screen - just where you want to see out(!)

Wandered back into the shop, the guy came out, had a look, laughed, went back in, got out another, tried that... and ... Just the same again!

If you pushed the wiper arm down, it worked fine... But there's no way of adjusting the tension... Any ideas/recommendations?

Am I crazy to think about trying to get hold of some blade rubber that stands taller (like off a truck or something - all hypothetical - I've done no research!) and making it fit the original holder???

Cheers.

Enjoy...

No sources for blade rubber????? :?:

Not even an reply to say I'm crazy???

Hmm this is rather random mate .. WIsh i could advise you with anything ..

Maybee give the glass a good clean and a polish with some glass polish so dirt/water dosent stick to it as much ??

Sometimes happens to my car if i know what your on about..same with the bodywork when i give the car a clean, leaves little spots where the water doesn't stay..

No, the problem here's that there's a gap under the wiper blade... When the wiper's mid-sweep, vertical on the screen, you can see daylight between the glass and the wiper blade, even with the brand new, box fresh blades!!!!!

The area of the screen it doesn't wipe's about 10" diameter!!!

Really sucks!!!!

[spots that don't get wet are probably silicone on the paint surface.]

Yea mine did the same, a right pain!!!! Had forgotten about that!!

I replaced all mine with genuine VW ones, and it still did it, so i toiok it back off, bent it round the 'Wrong' way to make that middle bit slightly less curved, and it sorted it!! U can almost bend these so much till the ends touch without damaging them!!! I did it! ... to the old ones... and at the end of 3 times they just stayed like it lol!

Yeah, just bend em back a few times that should sort it dude!

Olz x

best get a rear aero wiper from VW then! Think mine cost me £20 incl the blade and everything.

Ah, never considered bending the blade might have any effect.

I'll have a go later once she's back from work in it.

Cheers.
