cheers for that geezer, looks good nice amount of stretch. would any tyre fitter have problems gettin this on a 7j wheel? also are nankangs any good?

If you want that stretch on a 7J rim then bridgestone potenzas will be your best, they give a sickk stretch on a 7J rim, I used to have them on some rims before.

Nankangs will be alright if you trailer your car around...

Some of the tyre walls are different by brand, some are stronger than others

I had 165/501/5 nankangs on a 7x15 rim - all I can say is they were shite and the tyre fitter almost had a heart attack trying to fit them the side walls are so stiff - 120psi to get them to stretch onto the rim! Oh and I managed a 4 wheel drift in my G40 with them!

i run federals on mine, were cheap as chips! seem ok, not as good as the hankook ventus tyres i ran when i had 14s on though.

At first when I run a 165/50 on a 7J I thought it was a bit sketchy but after a bit of driving on them I realised what the limit was on them. They feel a bit sketchy and give some interesting handling characteristics but I never popped one off, which is good going!

I don't like the stretch nangkangs give, much prefer the bridgestones.

1- You will feel like your rolling on stone wheels

2- You will slide around like on Ice

3- You wont be able to thrash it around corners through fear of them flying off .

Well we have some private land for trashing on and I couldn't pop my tyres off, handbrake turns didn't do it, sharp left to right cornering didn't do it, high speed cornering didn't do it. Was all good, its comedy in the wet though, but thats just cause there is a small amount of tread on the ground and you need ot run a slighly higher pressure.

They are the bridgestone Potenzas mate 165/50/15" I think there all good on a 6J look the business and arnt to harsh on ride quality .

Sounds mad to me ! they were cool on a 6J

Still wanna see a 165 on a 9 just for jokes, seen some ditchfinders on an 8 but the side walls tend to bow in and make them look hellish scary as on the treser's above.
