Well after an afternoon of slowly workin my way round the car with the Tcut, i have got the coilies on, new alternator, exhaust and tracking done thanks to G40_John and the tigs the finished result is rather good - if i do say so!

yeah they're 13x8s all round on 175/50s yokos and dunlops.

its a 1.6D - currently running on about 30-40% veg oil. takes out cats eyes at the moment, think it may have to go up a bit.

have you inverstigated the mod yet currie? they are embarresing figures lol although my 1.9 aint much better lol

In all fairness the figures for my 1.3 are like 16 seconds to 60 and it doesn't take much more than 14. Still a lot slower than the Polo though.

1.6 d's are 65 bhp aren't they? or was that just the 1.6 Caddy I'm thinking about with the low ratio box?

gotta agree on the handling as well, which is good cause once you get the 1.3 up to some kinda speed you want to try and keep it there as long as you can

yeah could do but you should see my sump already. i need to take the arch liners out too and fold the lips in first tho cause no way am i scoring the sidewalls of new yokos

Check parkers mate, they have the whole figures for the mk2 golf.

Don't list the 0-60s though.

The NA diesels are 54 bhp.

Goose - according to the manual a 1.8 takes 7.2 seconds to hit 50, then 11.2 to hit 60. A lot of time for 10 mph!
