Hi all!!! New to da club,

Just wondering, how easy is it to fit a Jackson Tuning Suspension kit (60/40) to a Mk4 Polo?? I've called up local garages and they wanna charge me £150+!! Dunno if this is the right price I should be payin and thats not even including camber adjustments etc

For these reasons I was considering fitting them myself and I was just curious to know how easy these things are to fit to the car. Any guides etc would be great!!

That is a bit steep :\ You need the right tools first..do you have spring compressors?

I live In Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, but I'm prepared to travel so dont really mind as long as its not like 300 miles away!! lol. Just want the best price really.

I'm sweating over my alloys! there costin me a bomb too:

RH Cups 15x7 up front = £100 each

RH Cups 15x8 at rear = £120 each

195/45/15 tyres x 4 = £160

Fitting balancing etc = £60

TOTAL = £660!!!!!!!!

and Nope!!! I aint got the tools so maybe this aint gonna be such a good idea to fit them myself!

All I've got is a philips screwdriver and a can of WD-40!! lol. Well if it involves buyin a set of tools I might aswell just pay to get the fitted, I aint even got the ramps and stuff to get the car off the ground!

If anyone could give me a good price for fitting, and all adjustments etc them I'm up for it!!! Also if you can fit ma wheels n tyres at the same time that would be great.

I'm sure someone off blue peter could make it work with a screw driver and a can of WD!

You don't need ramps or anything, just a jack..

If you've got some money, and you're prepared to learn, i'd get buy the tools and DIY..could save some money in the future too!

Personally I'd see buying the tools as an investment. Buy a good ratchet/socket set, trolly jack and some axle stands and your pretty much ready to go. People alway say use spring compressors but I've never used them and never had a problem. But if your not really sure what your doing you should probably use them so you don't destroy your face.

Its not hard to change the suspension on a 6N. Theres a handful of bolts to undo and thats about it. If you know someone who is into there cars ask them to give you a hand with it.

I'd recommend getting the Halfords Pro 150pc Set. Had mine for about a year now and its probably the best thing I've bought tool wise! Nice compact case to, very useful all round!

How much do you reckon all these tools and stuff will set me back?? Looks like its gonna cost me over a £100 then I dont know. I

m in 2 minds about doing it myself, cant be much harder than building a PC right?? lol (What I do). On the other hand if its costs around £100 id just give over the cash to get it fitted, saves me the hassle and I dont have the foggiest clue about what I'm doin.

Just for the record, any guys on here wanna make some extra money !!!! If you can fit em for me and the price is right them I'm down for it.

Halfords pro kit is like £150 but sometimes its on offer for £99.99. Trolly jack is about £20 and axle stands are about £15 a pair.

If you lived closer I'd help you fit them, but I live miles away

Would definetly be a good investment..you never know when you might need the tools and sending your car to a garage all the time would rack up some hefty bills.

i had my 60mm kit fited last week.

£160 but i had all new parts (top caps n stuff, so like 60quids worth of parts they said) plus i had new bearing done on the back hubs at the same time i thought this was a good price. :-D

my dad has used this place for years and the old guy really no there stuff.

Yeah prices are looking pretty steep!! Even if I did fit them myself then I still want the camber angle adjusting etc. Looks like I'm gonna have to sit on ma hands and hand the fu**ers ma wallet!!!!

Been callin up places this afternoon and the cheapest place I've got so far has been £200, but that does include the camber angle adjustements etc. hummmmm. Workin out a lil more expensive than I first thought!!!!

Anyone know of any places to get them fitted for a descent price?? (preferably in west mids)

id say stick the kit in the boot of the car, and drive to a few differnt places.

that way they can see you are car and the kit/ as to know what they are dealing with.

its all way best to speak to people face to face, as over the phone most peolpe will just F**K u off if u drive up it will all so show uv make more of an effort I'm they will value you custom.

^ if they still say a silly price u can slap him in the face LOL, or say somebody said they can do it cheaper but you lik the look of his place beta and bla bla.. blar
