just dropped my 6N 60mm (philJ 60mm kit)

i'am running 195/50 15" that i think are 8inch across,

the front drivers arch is sat on the tyre and rubs all the time and the passenger side rubs when i have someone in the passenger side.

*i no every one says run 195/45 but will this really make a big different and clear the arch.

*what other tyres can i go for,

*if i wanted the smallest bit of stretch what would i ask for.

its a bit higher at the back as i carry people offten so haven't really had a problem with them, but will change the tyres to mach.

any help n i will be great full (think i need convicing that 195/45 will sort the problem)

185/45/15s ? although they're Nankang Ditch Finders.

195/45s will make a fair bit of difference :)

i was down 80-85 with 8js on 195/45/15s and i was sweet but thats without anyone in the back and no speed bumps!

now and again when driving it hard i would get minimal rubbing here n there!

u get a nice-sefa stretch with that tyre!

185/45s would look inmense and will give you a tiny lush profile!

195/45s will probs make a good difference.

175/50/15s would probably ensure that you don't get any rubbing. But they might be to low profile and look stupid if the cars not low enough.

No, I have 175/50 on an 8" wheel.

Is there not much difference between 185/45 and 175/50? Stretchwise

I'm gessing 175/50 is just a very low profile with no stretch is this right

175 on 8s will be proper stretched!

Good point! your car would have to be a lot lower then it is now or it would look a bit odd.

175 should have more stretch as its a narrower tyre.

if i put a mesuring stick across the top they are defo 8inches across so will this make them 8j or have i gone wrong somwhere

i know 175 are silly but still dont no what 185/45 luk like.

think I'm just going to have to go wit the 195/45s n hope its enough cos that bloody aches is tight.

i think I'm geting the idea now at last so 175 is across/ and 50 is the hight

as in if u have less on top u need more on the sides to make it fit wooo I'm so thick lol

The overall size of a wheel classes as 7j is 8 inches, the 7j is measured from the inside lip that the tires are sealed against.

arrrrr no way i didnt even no that lol

so should just go wit 195/45 n have done with it lol.

after all this we have worked out that my wheels are 7j

but thanks for all you help. and i now have a beter knowledge of how tyres are sized and measured
