am sure someone hear on clubpolo did this

and did it work?

also is it legal and will pass its mot?

anyone?

?

tinted headlight protectors

Is this what you mean??

If you going to do it i would do a few other mods first like lowerage etc.... Then may look good. Standard cars with pimped lights look turdo in my book.....

hope this helps! :-)

wtf? my car is lowered!

where do i get them from then?

I have never seen your car.....you know what i meant!! :-) Was trying to be helpful, god!!

I am not sure where you get them from my friend but i am sure that if you ask mbh69 nicely he may tell you. Helpful guy!! Just seen your avatar pic now, i am sorry!!

Could look good!!

aha no worries bro!

was thinking of smoking all the lights on the car and tinting the windows 1 day. think it would look tidy :)

Yeah could look good, request it to be photoshopped. Sure someone will be able to help. Give you a better way to see what it will look like without spending the money first!!

I think you have to tint the headlight protector as it is illegal to have the front glass on the lights of a headlamp tinted. So when i did my lupo i had to take the lights off the car (ball ache on a lupo mind), take the bulbs out, oven bake them, crack em open, spray the plastic bit inside black, but not the reflective silver bit surrounding the bulb, place the bits in the oven again to heat up the glue stuff and then squeeze back together, put bulbs back in, and put the lights back in the car. Job done. Cost £3. Time 1 hour, working slow.

yeah, seems alot of hastle tho, even if cheap as chips:)

i suppose with tinted protectors, i could just unclip when it comes to mot day.

can you get tailight protectors then? ha. and/or is tinting the tailight legal/pass mot?

thanks

depends on if enough light is visible through the tint and also if the lights showing through the tint are the correct colour i think.....Sure someone will confirm whether or not this is true.

Yeah it was a lot of hassle but it looks really good....

Headlight protectors maybe the way for you to go?

hmm, ok, dont trust myself putting them in the oven etc etc etc aha. unlesss someone who has done it before offers to help.

dont suppose you have a pic of the lupo lights?

i think i will got the headlight protector route then tint them. you spray the outside yes?

and for spraying taillights and side indicators, spray the outside also?

I am not sure as i have not done this to a polo.....what model is it by the way 6N2??

Doing the lights in the oven is easy and there is a FAQ on clublupo that i can link you to if you like. Cost bugger all and you can't go wrong unless you forget they in the oven. Just do one at a time and take your time. All depends on what model it is though. You can buy tinted side repeaters and rear lights but if you want to do it yourself search to see what other people have and then just PM them and ask nicely.

Not sure what you do to the headlight protectors looks like they just tinted from the outside though?? I maybe wrong though.

Someone will help i am sure!!

i think they are tinted from the outside looking at that mbh69's ones.

thanks for all the help mate, may have saved me a fair packet!

:D
