I'm very lucky, my pops has a garage and he did most of the work, so massive thanks to him. it did take a wee while so if someone wanted all the stuff done he would quote around £2000

that looks sweet

cheers, built up with filler i think, he spent ages lining it up with the doors but he assured me it would be alrite as long as the doors arent slammed :ninja:

if you have a bird in your life your fucked then....

hummm you had it all smoothed but left the aerial???????? Just seems like an odd thing to do.

And if that is all just filler that will crack in to time.

Do you mean he would charge £2000 just for the roof?

Here's one i made early

i almost had this done to mine but didn't reckon it would last with the bass making the roof flex as much as it does ;)

looks cool though ;)

and if anyone wants it doit a few hundred quid and it'll be done ;) without much filler though so it will last ;)

Haha, nice one Dan, you're right!

The only way to do this properly would be to have metal welded in to the voids and then a light skimming over the top. Otherwise, it may crack when cornering hard etc. The roof is a major structural part of the car and does actually take quite a bit of force.

I'm loving the look! Original and fresh too!

oh that is not a photo shop i posted by the way. That is how that car is

if you don't rush it you can fill it with fiberglass and leave it a good day to fully cure then skim with filler and paint ;)

but yeah i am having my roof done again to lose the sunroof on mine but can't risk it cracking as it probably would with the amount of flex it has already ;)

Are you just going to replace the roof skin with a non-sunroof item? that would probably be the best way. May as well use a mk5 roof skin while you're on as the roof runners on those are alot nicer and also colour coded. You'll need a mk5 windscreen though as they're more square at the top.

i haven't got the coice becouse of the wall and reiforcing under the roof :(

the plan is to smash the sunroof fasten a peice of metal over the are and fiberglass the whole roof to reinforce it ;)

just have to wait and see, if it cracks it cracks. kept the aerial as i thought it would break it up abit, the cars far from perfect. thats a nice lookin polo.

my pops doesnt do this sort of work normally, mainly just servicing and repairs, just if a lad came along wanting the respray, smooth bumpers, roof and other bits it would be around that price.

looks cool but i can definately see that cracking. all the other lil bits are very trick though!

£2k isn't a bad price to ask for a respray and lots of smoothing IMO!

i dont get smoothing to be honest. abit here and there to tidy a few things but you can have too much of one thing i think. i prefer stuff where someone says 'oh look at that' oh yeah never even noticed, nice bit of detailing' fucking sticking bodge all over the place for no reason makes me think you went 'right I've got 500 quid what can i do?' I'm not saying this car is like that the opposite actually its much more subtle. but i think you could be creating problems. can't slam the door? lol christ. what next. WOAOOO WOAOO, DON'T OPEN THE WINDOWS!!

its nice to look at for now but soon enough you will be digging the filler out and preplacing it with metal and a skim of filler as filler is just a fininshing tool really not a whole procudure tool

looks great though amd love the car nice cc-d wheels
