Still at it Sean. 3 years lol. At least I know it'll be done right. Some days I love it and others I could hang myself :p

So after what can only be described as a idiot of a day off I went and pulled the rear shocks out to suss out the hydros.

I bolted the rams into the rear and decided where to run the lines for the rear shocks. I then jacked up the axle to see how much drop we'd have. Turns out the rear axle will rest on the chassis leg before the rams fully compressed so I'm happy there. Not that it'll ever get that low with the Gottis on but it's nice to know I wont have to worry.

Silly pic with a space saver on:

And one of the floor now dry. Once I get a final hole welded I'll finish the rest:

Always wondered what a mk4 dash would look like in a polo.

Looks perfect!!

This build is taking shape!, Hope to see at UD,

I need to get there too, missed it for 3 years now! Can't make it 4.

Connor how hard was it take out the real 1/4 windows ???

Probably an easy enough job with the right tools. In my case (as usual) I didn't so I cut it out with two bits of wood and some MIG wire wrapped around them. lol

Cheese wire ftw!

I looks forward to seeing this, hopefully at UD!

Loving this dude! Can't wait to see the finish piece.

Dude, put some pics up man, i've been so bored at work waiting for an update, 2 whole days!!!

not as happy as me lol. no updates this week so far cos every night I've been trying to sort the wanky pierburg carb on my mk2 daily. i can take the carb and inlet off from 3 streets away I'm so fucking used to it.

BTW if anyone has a pierburg from a 1.3 let me know asap

So after the mk2 fucking me about for over a week and my Dad taking sick again progress got well held up but we're back on form again.

Yesterday I drew up a rough design of what I wanted for mounting the hydros in the boot. With the Polo's boot not being overly big and my pumps being quite industrialous I'd a bit of thinking out to do seeing as I want the parts mounted quite low and I've 3 batteries and 4 accumulators to mount too along with other bits and pieces. I got some fresh steel and fired up the band saw and welder and cut and tacked till I got what I wanted and got Lee to weld it for me. Once she'd done it looked something like this:

I also drilled holes and mounted my bulk head fittings to pass the lines from the boot to the inner wheel well to the ram:

The 3 batteries will be mounted between the pumps. As you can see in the first pic I seam sealered the welded parts of the floor too.

The threads into the pumps for mounting them seem to be imperial (i'm guessing but definatly not metric) so I've a bit of paying to do to get bolts and same for the nuts for the top of the rear rams.

wahey progress and pics =D

I love how in the time youve had this car and been building it, I've had about 5 different cars lmao

I'm now onto a golf project that is taking shape nicely ;)

TBH i'm not one for chopping and changing car every 2 mins. Also my missus has build her nova and her vento in this time and is stripping the vento for round two atm. I've been running around getting hyrdo bits today so hopefully get more done tonight.

Needa take a run up some night to see how it's coming along and see the hydros in action! :)

Loads of problems and hold up as usual between waiting on parts for both the hydros and the dash swap and the girlfriend's Nova getting broken into so small update tonight.

I got my couplers for the solenoids so I joined them together and then linked the 2 positives together too and covered the cable in webbing (you'll notice this theme lol). The faces will also be polished too:

I got one pump mostly built up with what fittings I had:

I drilled the frame and bolted the solenoids down and set the pump to where it would be and started to make up the loom for the Pump, dumps and solenoids. All was covered in webbing and heat shrink and each connection was labelled and clear heat shrinked over:

And the frame with the loom mounted:

I'm waiting on a step up converter coming and I can finish the wiring (hence some unfinished parts of the loom)

Not much of an update just need some help.

I got a fella to do me up a list of what wires to connect when fitting the mk4 Golf headlight switch to my early (up to 1997) 6N but he's done it for a post 97 6N.

Anyone good at wiring what to help me out?
