She's fit as fook too so tis all good :D lol

Headed up to work on the engine. Pulled the exhaust manifold off and degreased in behind it.

Next was taking the fooking intake and throttle body off. Such a stupid complicated design but got it off eventually.

Also worked out I can use most of the original intake to make my new inlet manifold for the bike carbs. Quite happy about that as it means i can maintain a decent fuel spray pattern. Degreased in behind that too then gave it another hosing. Thats it ready for paint tomorrow :D

Selling the Throttle Body and original manifold if anyone wants them.

Ok so after getting up early today to hopefully make good progress I ended up having to bleed the brakes on my friend Claire's 106 GTi (absolute fuck up) and change the brakes on Gerry's Polo (again a fuck up). Between dicking about I managed to paint the gearbox, block and rocker cover in the finest heat resistant BBQ paint. Sorry for the wanky phone pics. I forgot my camera.

I then filled the "DOHC 16V" in with red roughly as i wasn't happy with the black rocker cover anyway. I think it's too much black. Any suggestions for the rocker cover are welcome.

I vote polished with "DOHC 16V" in army green :-D

Right didn't do a whole lot today as I had to tidy the workshop to get the Polo and Nova into it later tonight. Got a spare minute tho and pulled the side mounting off the engine and painted it black just to tidy it up.

new update:

Ok so I still haven't got the polo into the workshop. lol. Started welding the arches of the Nova and Lee couldn't strip the Polo as it wasn't there so she continued on with the rocker cover. Coming up rightly.

Right so we finally got the Polo up to the workshop. I took into Lee's Nova and she proceeded to strip the Polo.

It has gone from this:

And as she finished up tonight the bonnet, bumper, grill, wings, head lights, front panel, washer bottle, radiator, expansion tank, airbox and intake and battery were all removed.

Was tidying up the workshop today and got bored so decided to label the wiring to be removed and/or hidden.

Then i decided to hide the release cable for the bonnet catch inside the inner wing. I hadn't got a drill bit big enough so had to ream it out. Need to get a grommet on it too. I don't care what it looks like tho because its under the scuttle panel and wont be seen.
