That bay in the civic...... Given me ideas now

Getting on rightly now. Not far off finishing the driver's side. I was doing the inner wings and getting severly fucked off so Lee took over and I worked on the Nova for a bit. This is how she got on:

You probably can't see the contours due to the filler not reflecting but it's shaping up rightly.

That's the hardest bit due to it being hard to get it. The rest of the chassis leg/engine mount bracket can be got at with a DA.

I'm so dying to see an update!

Ok so I got very little done last week cos of coursework deadlines then today my dad was brought back into hospital again so I didn't get doing much.

Here's what I've done from last time tho.

Started stripping the seam sealer and spilt the tape round the loom to start re-routing it.

Next I removed the bracket holding the brake line junction. I'll make up a smaller bracket off the bulk head to hold this.

Next up was starting to make the templates for the pieces to be welded in

Then this is as far as I've got

The loom originally ran along the yellow lines with a line coming down from the rain tray and one from the bulk head but I'm going to run them both from the bulk head into one then route them together as shown on the green line. I'm still trying to work out where tho.

Supersport 2.5in stainless steel system from Adzpolo1. Just waiting on it arriving.

Also have to pick up a 2nd hand (but never used) stainless steel mainfold and driver side engine mount for £100 off a guy in Ballymoney

that's just knocked a fair bit off my budget for doing this

Right so got the rest of the pieces cut out and welded into place today (bar the rear of the chassis leg and 2 or 3 small holes which i'll do tomorrow). This side should be alot easier smoothed due to the engine mount being down on the chassis leg rather than sitting up. With any luck it'll be ready for paint next week.

Just waiting on my exhaust arriving and to lift my manifold hopefully next week. Also getting a set of Piper Ultimate Road Cams and vernier pulleys for my birthday/christmas

Probably would be better green and black, I just did it for a laugh when i was bored one day.

Love that pic myself. I'd love to do that at MoT when they ask to see the wipers work but as funny as it would be I don't have the £30+ to throw away. lol.

Right so after finishing welding up the passenger side of the bay I started welding at the Nova and left Lee to break out her smoothing skills. This is what she got done today

Next up is to remake the brake lines in the engine bay in copper and run them along the back of the bulk head to tidy them up abit and keep them out of the road.

Ok so uni and a few heavy/embarrassing drinking sessions have slowed my progress.

I've now cut away the brake lines and their junction box. These will be remade in copper after painting.

I then finished all the welding by welding up the rear of both chassis legs and other wee bits and pieces and threw a skim of filler on. Thanks as usual to Lee for the sanding.

Atm I can't do any work to the car as it's minus temperatures in my workshop and my space heater has shit itself. In the process of fixing it then it's all systems go.

Just before Xmas Bono stripped the coilovers and started cleaning the shit and corrosion off them for mot.
