Right... Help please guys and gals.

My mk3 is lowered 60/40, has those green anti-roll bar blocks, a front lower GED brace and 7J mattig steels...

I took it to get the tracking done.. And they told me they cant adjust it... Its toeing in 6 degrees one side and 4 on the other. And i dont particularly want to be going thru a pair of tyres every other month or so... Has anyone with a similar set up had this kinda problem??? Wondering if i should take it all off???

try a different garage! theres no reason why you cant get your tracking done. mk3s are a bit fiddly to do so the guy might have just been looking for an excuse not to do it.

have they said why they cant get the tracking done?

it may be a seized track rod end which isnt allowing the guy to turn it and therefore remediate the tracking...

id ask him for a full explanation as to why he cannot fit it and if its not satisfactory talk to the management

failing that take it to another garage , i normally ring around a few first before i leave the house to confirm and nothing pisses me off than fannying about trying to find garages

mk2/3 pols are a pain in the ars.

you have to take the steering wheel off.

most places refuse to do it as its too much work

They're not that difficult, it's only adjustable on one side which means that it takes a bit more to adjust.

You don't actually need to take the steering wheel off, it's just that as it's only adjustable on one side the steering wheel usually ends up at a funny angle, but you can always correct this yourself afterwards.

Try a different garage that knows what they're on about.

Thats what i was thinking... But he said that there was something wrong with my set-up.. Didn't elaborate on the matter tho.. Jus shrugged his shoulders and put the blame on the wheels. I'm thinking matey! But i will stick my RAs back on and try again. The toeing in would be caused by the anti-roll bar blocks woldn't it?

i wouldnt say its difficult at all, no differnt from doing it on a mk1 golf or the like...

you have to take the wheel off and centre them whenever you have the tracking done and thats on 22mm long socket i think so thats hardly strenuous [sp?]

it will eventually become 2 sided tracking when you have to replace the solid arm as your replacement will have an adjustable end on it

Right.. Jus got the bonnet up, and there doesn't seem to be alot of thread left to be able to adjust on. But enough to do somethin atleast.. It doesn't look as if they even tried Tossers. Which direction would i have to rotate it, if i were to do it myself?

if its toeing in you need to shorten the rod to pull the back of the wheels further in
