Well my polo has some small patches of laqure peel I'm just wondering if the only way to sort this is with a full respray? or can i get a bodyshop just to sort out where its peeling?

My old polo had this problem, it started with a few patches on the bonnet so I had to have the whole bonnet resprayed, then various patches appeared on other areas of the car. I ended up having nearly every panel resprayed in the end.

There was one patch on the boot that the bodyshop tried to sort out but you could always tell it had been done. So I would recommend getting at least the panels that have lacquer peel on them resprayed.

I was quite lucky in that the lacquer peel on the bonnet appeared after it went for a service at VW and they washed it for me so they paid for it. Iirc they quoted something like £250??? But then VW prices are always extortionate for bodywork.

Just seen you've got a 6n, mine was a 6n too and I've heard of a few people having this problem with their 6n, weird Out of interest what colour is yours?

dark green but couldent tell you what shade it is as I've only owned it a few days

my brothers got a old 205 gti and he spraed over some laqure peel and it just made it much wors

if i do end up getting the panels resprayed that have laqure peel ill prep it myself

I've got the same problem. Not too fussed though right now because so many panels have got something wrong with the paint in one form or another, I'm just going to matt black the car next year.
