anyone know the trick to flip the digital clock round so the numbers are coloured instead of the background?

i.e

i want them to look like this...

I've got the change to red sorted. just wanna know how to reverse the LCD!

some one said it was to do with the polarizing filter but i dunno where it is or how to flip reverse it (theres a song in there somewhere!)

Hmm so do you just flip the filter round? Might give it a go next time I have the clocks out!

I've had the mk3 digital clock apart out of curiosity - it's pretty easy, just a few screws holding the casing to the circuit board and then various layers fall out.

I wouldn't mind doing this sort of jazz to my clocks!! How you go about making the lcd display red?? Sorry if i am being a tard i have never taken my clocks apart before to have a look!!

what clocks are they? look like raddo clocks?

they are indeed Corrado clocks

it seems the Corrado guys are well into converting there clocks to this style

there are a few different ways to convert to red.

I'm looking into just changing the filters from green to red but you can buy LEDs on eBay for about £6 that just bolt in.

I've had the clocks apart too and can confirm that they are very simple to take apart! only thing to be aware of is when you need to prize the circuit board away from the casing, you must unclip the plug as this is what is holding it in!

so hold on, are they corrado clocks or audi clocks? I'm confused! do they go straight in?

the clock shown are corrado clocks.

if you look at the mileage they have been reversed (so just the numbers lights up)

the colour has also been changed to red rather than green.

i want to do the same to the little LCD clock in the dash of my Polo

there is no swapping of speedo heads from another car involved

when you do this to your clock can u post a pic of the filter?

take it u just change the green filter to a diff colour acetone, and there's another filter for the LCD part further back??

the green filter is at the back and (if i understand correctly) the polarizing filter to reverse the clock is stuck to the plastic screen

i have a clock at home from a mk3 speedo to practice on, ill try and get some pics of the seperate parts later
