I have arrived at the ridiculous conclusion that the calipers and drums on my laughably underpowered 2f need to be painted red - just like a porsche. Naturally, I expect it to make the car faster, but the real problem is, will something like hammerite be quickly burned off by the heat?

use synthetic paint lasts for years

Hammerite won't burn off but might change colour because of the heat. Your local motor factor should stock VHT paint, or hammerite do a 'barbeque' paint that's similar.
