New Home-Made Clocks

Featured Replies

I've not got a picture of how they originally looked but everyone knows there black dials with a rather horrible green glow..

unfortunatly my clocks are the older style and are illuminated by bulbs and coloured plastic..

i started off taking the clocks out and changing the illumination bulbs and changing the coloured plastic from green to red, and i got this result..

But then i wasnt completly happy and wanted the green bits to be red aswel, so i changed the coloured plastic in that to red, and while i had the clocks in peices i decided to change the dial colour to white using the guide on UK Polos. I also coloured the needles to red so they would be visable during the day...

Here is the final result anyway.. not brilliant but i quite like it, pics dont really do it justice either..

the pics arent brilliant and it looks hard to read on that but nah its a peice of piss

cheers for the comments people..

yeah I'm kinda going backwards with the car at the min.. i cant afford to get it slammed and get some wheels on it just yet so I'm doing all the little picky details then getting it lowered at christmas and wheels in the new year :D

i was thinking of going with a red/black theme through out the whole car :p

Whats up with the rev counter - the scales are different between the two setups?

i know the needle is set abit to far back, need to take it out and adjust it

looks top! think i would have done the needles a different colour though as you can hardly see them!reverse polarity lcd displays would look cool too! very audi-esque

the needles are visable in the flesh, just blend in with that picture

Anyway your dials look great

After changing my dials i found them lighting up red to be a struggle ha ha, now they just light up white :)

Changing allt h etoher bits of the car lighting is easy enough just swapping parts, most of mine lights up red now, good luck with it matey :D

I think il just change mine to the 1st step you did.

Can i ask what the bulbs were mate...like name/number?
