Been wondering recently about how mk2 bumpers would look on a mk3, idea came to me after looking at some Mk2 Golf with Rallye headlights and small bumpers. I think done right they could look mega tidy.

IIRC the mounting points are different from mk2->mk3 but i wondered if anyone had attempted as in theory they are the right size.

Any pics floating around? Any issues with doing it?

Its a bad idea...

On the back of a mk3 the back panel is flat and ugly purely because you don't have to look at it. At the front there is no proper front panel because it uses a big bumper. Unless you put a mk2 back panel on it and then pikey fitted a mk2 front panel onto the front I can't see it looking very good. I think it would be very hit or miss though, in terms of how it would look. Can see it being a love or hate mod.

Bit of photoshopping maybe?

Ah never thought about that, remember now looking at the back end when i removed my bumpers to clean them up. I reckon it could work but as you say with some crazy pikey-panel work.

I think i'll leave this idea til i build my future G40, wanna give it a crack tho. Photoshop will be my friend for now.

seen it done on a breg cup mk3, you'd pull if off with phat arches.

I'm aware a few people have done mk2 shell with mk3 bumpers but never seen it done the other way round.

Look at the bottom of the page of the link i put up mate .. the piccy at the top of the page which is opend on the link is misleading you i think .. there is a mk3 with a Mk2 bumper on lower down on the page mate ..
