good choice buddy, make sure your cambelt is changed if its nearing 60k as they are prone to failure on the gti, and watch out for the gearboxes. Apart from that enjoy it! lovely car...gotta say the rims look real nice, always had a soft spot for momo's..it will look awesome when you slam it! any more plans for it?

I loke the rims! makes a change from the norm

not any plans as yet, cambelt was done at bout 64k i think, gearbox is fine atm, iv got no plans atm like, as i have run out of money lol, dunno whether to slam or not cos its got 195/45/16 tyres n iv read quite a bit about rubbing. service is th next thing thats on th to do list before anything lol, then possibly wheel refurb. if anyones got any suggestions I'm more than happy to bear them in mind til i have some money, but it could be quite a while before anythin happens, student budgets dont go far nowadays lol espec when uv got you are first year of insurance to pay with no ncb on a group 12 car lol :crybaby:

I'm regrettin not shoppin round like, needed it there and then tho, could probs have got cheaper with a specialist, its 2200 for me, and no student loan left lol

they're momo arrows arent they? my mate had them on his lupo gti

red is good too

yeah you will need to get 195/40/16 tyres on it ideally, your speedo will be knocked out atm, my suggestion is to get the right tyres on it & give it a good drop on coilovers so you can mess around with the height, it really is so important on a gti

when i next need a set of tyres il get them, but th front 2 are brand new and th rears like new, so they're stayin for a while yet. how much would a set of coilovers cost?

philj should be able to get you a set for about £250 i think? or if you have more money to play with there are loasd available

hahaha oh well i got that through admiral, not as bad as i thought, sayin that iv got pass plus which helps. with wheels n filter declared, and kept out on th street. although no matter whether i kept it on street, on th drive or in th garage it made no difference to th premium. i must live in a safe area then...

what excess did you say mate I'm interested in what they quote me as the difference in cars is ridiculous for us both payin the same i dont understand why i get such high quotes when i live in a good area IoI :S
