G-ladersite racing kit 1

Featured Replies

Right, I'm after the racing kit 1 from g-ladersite

Clicky

So it comes with the ARB blocks and the outside control arm.. Now, I take it thats the rubber brush that practically sits bang under the suspension?

Does the inside brush need changing on the opposite side need chaning too?

Does anyone have a picture of these fitted so I can get a better idea, I just cant picture it at the moment!?

That must be rubbish.. solid outer bushes.. semi flexi inner bushes!!

I'm gonna not use the powerflex kit i have now after ordering the g-ladersite rear bushes.. they are solid!!

The lower arms with the rose jointed inner bush complete for around 190€ has to be the way to go (IMO).

Awsome reponse mate, wish every one was as helpfull as that!

Did it make a genuine difference?

What about the rear brushes that come with racing kit 2? worth the extra $$$$$?

i personally wouldnt put the axel bushes on a road car with a lowered suspension kit, it will be very twitchy!

as for your powerflex "polo kid" considering your car has done about 0 miles on them, i wouldnt judge the quality just yet.

what you want to do is order 2 sets of the outer TCA bushes, they're the same item

^^^ whats that outer tca is the same as what?

Agreed and agreed. Road wise the g-ladersite arms will be a tad rude, but hey. I would try and pair up the powerflex bushes as pinches said..

I might have some for sale..

the outer tca bush is the same as the inner one.

Solid nylon bushes on a road car are extremly sketchie. From 1999-2004 I had two G40 and only every got properly out of shape once due to me cooking my brakes on a trackday and turning in early.. i.e. My fault. To put it into context my Blue Tin can had solid ARB, lower arm, rear beam bushes. I litrally spun the car at least 180'-270' seven times within six weeks of owning the car. I fitted softer powerflex bushes and I've not spun the car since. Another issue with nylon bushes are vibrations. The nylon does not absorb virbrations like softer bushes do and you will find various suspention component mountion nuts and bolt will work loose. Unless you have a 100% track car, or are a Hero with responces quicker than the speed of light stick with Powerflex items. Nylon bushes in the bin = self presevation, good luck to the Hero's.

the outer tca bush is the same as the inner one.

The diameter varies from inner to outer! They are not the same bush

To be fair though, G-laderseite do supply new nylock nuts with the TCA bushes. Are the Powerflex ones polyurethane compound then?

I'm certain when i got powerflex ones they sent me 4 of the same bush! could explain some of the problems! powerflex are MONKEYS!!

Yes, powerflex are Poly. Even with a new ARB, nyloc nuts double locked, new struts the ARB 19mm nuts worked loose as did the pinch bolt on the outer ball joint on numerous occasion. I ended up cross drilling and lockwiring the nuts. Since swapping back to Powerflex bushes I've not encountered a single loose bolt. These bushes are fine for their intended application which is to blat up a 3 min German hill climb or a track session where the cars are all checked over or stripped after a session. For extended road use use a bush that has been designed with road use in mind. Would you go hill walking in Bala shoes ?

The part number for the inner and outer bushes are different. The one bush is also a couple of quid cheaper than the other. I've fitted many cars with Powerflex bushes and had no issues.

You should always replace the TCA nuts anyway-regardless of the bush type.

I'm with BeAVIS on this one. The nylon bushes supplied by G-laderseite are effectively solid. Sure, you do want much more positive location for the suspension but you need some compliance.

"Compliance" is my favourite word when I start woffling on about suspension. So many people who think they know about suspension and what is needed normally just talk crap.

Fitting 8 or 9" wide wheels and slamming the car as low as possible on coilovers with the dampers set to "hard" to stop the tyres rubbing is thought to be cool on here. This does NOT make for a good handling car. I don't care if the coilovers cost a thousand pounds, set up like this the car won't handle properly.

I too think cars look great nice and low, but if you want to improve handling it needs to be done sensibly.

Powerflex bushes are a polyurethene compound. Superflex are virtually identical bar the colour-and the price-far cheaper.

Poly bushes are ideal for road/track cars as they provide the positive location required but have enough compliance to still absorb the worst of the vibration and harshness you get with rose joints/nylon bushes.

Don't forget that tyres are also part of the car's suspension.

So remember the "C" word when talking suspension - COMPLIANCE.

COMPLIANCE.

LOL.. Thank you.. I was trying to remember the 'c' word in my last post. Some of the best handling road cars I've driven have been equipped with OE ride height springs, slightly harder dampers, track/camber spot on and Uprated Poly bushes in selected locations. The end result is a car that is quick on 95% of road surfaces with a little body roll but lots of predicatbility. This is a lot better than having a car that is set to be quicker providing that the road they happen to be on is smooth like a baby's bottom with uniform camber. I wasted plenty of slammed performance cars in my 1.9 TDi A4 by simply having the ability to carry on ramping along at speed on bumpy roads whist they are watching sparks fly off their exhaust in the rear view mirror... Maybe i'm just getting old ..

new rear axel bushes are £10.23 each + vat from the stealers

had this dicussion earlier in the day with pinches

New VAG bushes for the rear beam are the way forward...

My Polo used to skit around the road all the time from the rear end, and found myself on opposite lock a lot of the time

Since replacing the axle bushes with new (VAG) items the ride was softer, and it was a lot better on harsh surfaces. Still liked to go sideways though, definately something wrong with the car lol.

I litrally spun the car at least 180'-270' seven times within six weeks of owning the car.

I might have some for sale..

Maybe not then.

Right.. So let me get this straight?

You would recomend...

full powerflex set up which i think is... inner, outer tca brushes and ARB mounts

New VAG rear axel brushes

G-ladersite ARB Blocks?

At the end of the day, I live between Sheffield and Leeds, which have been voted the worse condition roads in the UK.. I mean every road is full of pot holes and are fucked basically. My car jumps around as it is.

I'm wanting better steering but not a really bad ride!

Rich my pedegree chum i think i am going to sack the G-lader version.

Going to buy the full set from superflex. As it is easy to tell what you are buying :-) Then new rear axle bushes from vag.

Canny be bothered suffering ride quality for some slightly harder bushes.....

Best bet and i think i am going to take that gamble!!

:-)

Plus superflex sounds funny.....hope you get some superflex stickers. Put them on my guns!!
