its in the faq section. personally i just robbed a red filter out of an ibiza then chopped it down and swapped it with the green filter. took about 5 mins to do!

i did mine thisavo, whipped the clocks out, then replaced the two bulbs with blue led ones, reomoved the white houseing the bulbs go in and under that is the green filter, just binned that and plonk it all bac together, and hey presto - blue lit dials looks cooler now, cheap and easy!

Where you get the LED bulbs from?

it was an ebay purchase a long time ago. but i know ultra leds.co.bla bla bla do them as i've used them to not to exspensive either.

how have you done the heater controls out of interest?

I Did this previously on my mk3 golf, all i did was jus use bulb paint lol from Hell-Frauds on the bulbs.

altho i cudnt do the digitad odometer?? as couldnt get to the filter on it, tried paintin bulb but red & Green cancelled eachother out and so cudnt see anything lol

how have you done the heater controls out of interest?

i can write a basic step by step now if you like.

No pics at the mo

First of all remove the controls from car,

use a flat screw drive to remove the green plastic filter, i found it easiest to pop it down the side and leaver it up. Remove any remains of

plastic.

next you'll need some 5mm 12v LED's (or some lower voltage LED's if you know the correct resister to use with it (me thinks i've have to research this))

what you need to do is to hold the LED inplace whilst you secure it with something! like clear silicon, or i've heard bluetac can be used, but i'd think that this will warm with the LED and become soft. i went with silicon

If silicon is used, leave to set for atleast 24hrs.

Bend the contacts towards the centre of each control, now the tricky part!

We need to wire the buggers in!

The longer lead on LED's is postive

I've not done this yet so there may be an easier way than the way i have planned it.

you'll need some flexable thin wire to either route through an existing gap/hole, or drill your own.

the trick is the route the wire so that at the point where it will pass through the plastic, it won't (or very limited) travel space, i.e. won't travel much if controls are moved.

All wiring will have to go to one point. A source which will receive power when illumination is required. I'm thinking that the surround illumination can be used.

there is a small push in connector around the back of the existing bulb.

All positive wires will need to be run in pararelle and not series.

Negative can be run series (i think)

wire it up and test!

what about the green filter on the back of the printed numbers etc?

it cant be removed from the numbers etc...

thats the issue..

2 options for you:

Rub off the green with some super fine grit sand paper

or

Chemically remove it using nail polish remover

I'd go with the sandpaper option, just be careful!!

tried rubbing it off but didnt like the uneven finish it left

may try the nail polish remover tonight
