My Brothers First Car!

Featured Replies

17 years old, been driving 4 months and he owns this...

He's done everything himself, it was a standard 1.4 Match on 48,000 miles, 1 lady owner, we paid £3200 for it.

You could say he's subtly changed things...

Tidy looking first car, i had a shit box of an escort for my first

Opinions, get the wheels spaced out a little  apart from that it looks sweet 8-)

looking good 8-) loving the rear badge, is it one from a beetle isn't?

looks sweet, whats the rear badge come off?

I love it..very subtle. Always thought about buying a set of them for my 6n2 but always wondered what it would look like :D

Ill second that question... Whats the rear badge off? Oh an very tasty.. NIce starter! Polo is my 1st car too

The badge is off the engine cover!

Lolz.. the badge looks good. I think the car could do with being dropped a lil lower (u probz couldnt drive it then) or the wheels being bigger.. still a bloody nice car! 8-)

looks sweet :D

spacers an abit of stretch to keep the tread in the arches an hes on to a winner

Very nice for a first car! Not sure on the wheels ,look a bit small for it imo.

not bad at all for a first car! bigger wheels are needed though

sweet first car there ..... well into it. looks cool. bit of spacing and stretch and it'll be couchtie!

Currently got 5mm spacers on the front, some 10mm spacers are waiting to go on the back!

The tyres are already slightly stretched but nothing crazy!

Looks sweet for a 1st car!

Looks quite clean, the wheels do need to be bigger, they look tiny on it!

Looks a sweet ride, not a fan of classics on a 6n2 though.

Happy motoring

Thanks for all the comments people, he's really happy with them but all these comments about wheels have made him want something bigger!

I think the classics look amazing!

looks smart as that

i like

thats a sweet car for a 17 year old! like the rear badge! just make sure he looks after it n be careful! 8-)

Tell him not to do stuff because other people say it, it just what we/they would do

If he`s happy with it then thats what matters :nod:8-)

Seriously though, get them wheels spaced out :-p:badgrin: *jokes*

That looks really smart - Nice first car!

I'd keep the wheels, looks cool

looks awesome! Not keen on the rear badge like....but a nice motor!

I also had a 6n2 for my first car :D

YES.

Those wheels, those tyres, PERFEC.

Keep as is, don't let him change anything. Simple and it works excellently. There's all this hype about low profile stretch... but when you don't need it why have it? I'm guessing they're probably 175/65s on 13x7s?

PURLEASE don't succumb to the 'big wheels low profile' brigade.

Stretch is silly and *can* be dangerous.

High profile stretch is just asking for trouble - sidewall flex + a tyre that isn't meant to be on that rim = bad. The chances of having a blowout are also a lot higher.

If you are going to stretch a tyre, at least do it with one that has a low profile.

BUT - all this aside, I do like the look of that mk5!

9x13's on the rear!

Love it, really nicely done that. ;)
