You license gets revoked and you have to reapply for a provisional and start again.

oh ok. thanks.

will i have to wait or could i retest straight away?

You have to wait for a provisional to come through, then you have to retake your theory test and then your practical.

I know thats how it deff happens when you have your licence revoked for 6points in your 1st 2years, dont quote me on this happening as you have got 9!

Hope tht helps,Oh and before you ask when you have retaken you will get your licence back with the points on regardless of what people say!

UNlucky mate...

You need to slow down a bit by the sounds of it...

You got caught speeding 2 times in under a month!

I think you have to wait as you license has to be "revoked" before you can apply for another one.

DVLA probably have to do some paperwork

I didn't know that! Interesting.. but quite right... Otherwise you got off lightly!

Twice in a week?? Surely you would have slowed down after the first two times if not the first..?

Yeah some people believe you get it back clean!

Nope your just able to get upto 12, but thats not the idea.

I got 6points within the 1st 2years, got it back and got done speeding again. Now got 9points with 3 not coming off until August, I have slowed down quite alot!

Nick

should invest in a road angel

I just took my led boot off!!

should invest in a road angel

altho that would help not getting caught, should generally not speed!

Nooooo Amy you only just bought my rims aswell! I was gona come see how they looked on your car at a meet. Hope you get it all sorted. Those last two were both within a few days was it just the wrong place at the wrong time?

back luck Amy.......does sound like you need to slow down or pay more attention to the speed limit though

i've been driving 12 years and i've only ever got 3 points (36 in a 30)

..

ask Santa for a Road Angel speed camera detector

unlucky, twice ina week :(

slow down tho, saves petrol aswell

you could try going to court and arguing that you need a car to get to work etc. they might let you keep your licence in exchange for a much larger fine, or they might make things 100 times worse. speeding costs money!

A bloke I used to work with did this, he was past probationary period and was about to get 3 more points (taking him up to 12) and a ban. Work wrote him a letter, and he got away with 11 points and a four-figure fine.

one of them was from when i was comin back from yours that time.

it was a 40 zone and i was doing 44 and the other one was a 50 and i was doing 56.

i cant believe it, i saw the van on the 40 but it was too late. :crybaby:

thanks for all your advice.

EDIT: can i still drive around up until i get the letter telling me its been revoked?

Edited by MK4_amy

isn't it legal to do 44 in a 40?

a mate of mine was in the last month before he could get the full 12 points, he got caught doing 95 and 96 on a motorway (in 2 counties lol)

he got his licence revoked and had to learn to drive again, but yeh he gets his licence back with 6 points on it.

i think with a ban you get it back with revoking (possibly wrong)

No, over the speed limit is the end of it!

No more 10% +2, if your speeding your speeding!

bad luck!

When do people have to take an 'extended test' then? I know there is such a thing but never heard of anyone actually taking one!

Speeding isn't cool, thats why theres limits!

Your meant to have an extended test when you have your licence revoked, I enquired about this when I had to rebook and they told me that I didnt!

I wasnt gonna argue!

Went ahead, done a real shit test (almost run a red light, went up the kerb three times on a parralell park, and got 3minors!)

Told her when I got back glad I didnt have to do the extended test after all!

She didnt look amused!

Oh the memories.

Sorry to hear about that Amy, you can apply for theory test straight away, I did, because your driver number stays exactly the same.

Just slow down, when you get it back dont speed at all. Another 3 points and thats you banned again!

Oh and yes until you get the letter from the DVLA saying your licence has been revoked you can drive, they actually give you 5 days notice, as in you get the letter on say the monday you are allowed to drive up until midnight on the friday.

Usually about 2months from the points to getting licence revoked...so you can drive over the christmas period. They send a letter giving you 5 days notice from the date of the letter, which is not helpful if there are postal strikes and you get it on the 5th day :-(

Just re apply as soon as, you have to pay for a new prov too.

yeh the test you do after a disqualification is meant to be an hour, involving all the manouvres and at least 3 emergency stops, my instructor told me (obviously had faith in me lol)
