Well i will steal your thread virginity then! Funking love this car, i was looking to get sebrings til you got them on and got the stance so perfect!

Dont want to sound like I'm arselicking, not my style, but this car is so simple and understated but so fucking cool! If it was up for sale and i could afford a second car, this would be perfect. Can't really run 2 gt's as a student tho :-( never mind eh...

What can i say, this car is awesome. The amount of work and care you have put in to it to make it look like this is great. Congrats on getting my vote of one of the best Polo's on the forum :)

5*

Ps. Stu will you be selling it?

Quality cool car.

Have you removed the Passenger wing mirror?

Awesome

Stance is better now since the photo's courtesy of some 15mm rear spacers. Now it sits pretty much prefect, tempted to wack the lowering top caps on and drop the rear another 10mm with some custom spacers but not sure if it'll still look right. May just give them to the future new owner.

Ps. Stu will you be selling it?

I will be up for sale in the coming months, time for a new challenge in the form a VR.

Have you removed the Passenger wing mirror?

Passenger wing mirror has been removed and replace with a custom blank, currently running a '82 spec mk2 drivers side mirror.

Cheers dude, wheels have been refurbished by the guys at BJV Engineering, bought them for peanuts looking like this:

quick standard refurb and they came out like this:

haha, I wouldn't go that far matey but appreciate the comments.

Current stance is much better, pics were taken before i spaced the rears out.

They were slightly swallowed by my rear arches at ET35, 15mm spacers sort that out tho.

glad to see some other people loving this too.

Dan aka Tractorboy - said he had a fun drive home.

I nearly burst into tears when he drove off.

Funny thing is i don't miss it know as much as i thought i would.

Plus the santana is a worthy temp. 2nd gear drop clutch wooooppppmmmmmhhhhh - nose flick power!

were those 165 50 15s ever so slightly stretched on those 6J rims?

  • Author

Yep slight stretch.

very clean mk3 dude, love it. think going for the sebrings were a great idea. never seen them on a polo. where your speaker fader switch is i thought it was heated seats switch, i was like :x:lol:

  • Author

Haha heated seats switch i wish, the speaker switch was kool, never got it working tho.

Loved the sebrings, one of those tried it things and it worked so well. sometimes less thinking more doing is the way forward with modding.

Cheers for the comments, i'm surpised Dan hasn't posted any photos as the new owner.

...

Picked up the replacement motor thursday evening and to say 'i'm loving it' is an understatement.

Pics to follow!

was the handling detrementally worse for being on 15x6 wheels? like everyone on this forum will tell you...

Yep i own this now! haven't got any new pic's up yet, not finding much free time in this festive season at the mo.

Anyway its so much more fun than my last GT, does feel like the handling is a lot lighter now on the 15's with really thin tyres. Also feels alot more solid than my H reg GT and its a much smoother ride due to the H&R Cup Car Suspension Kit. Plus the sound is something to be heard!

Anyway will try to get some new pic's up over the next few days, not that i have changed anything yet. Doesnt look like i will change anything either!

I liked the feel of the bridgestones, tremedous grip considering width and profile, i really think the size and tyre combo suits mk3's, well GT anyways. I imagine G40's would struggle a little.

Had 195/45/14 Conti's on my old borbets and although grip was awesome just felt there was a bit too much rubber on the road, not to mention the tyre noise.

I can honestly say i was blown away by the agility and cornering ability of the 165's. Showed me its not always all about how much width you've got but more tread patterns and matching tyre sizes to the car. My 2penth anyway.

One thing i defo miss, although the VR noise compensates.

Will have to pop down some time, grab a drink or sumat dan?

*cough* no-rice *cough*
