Have taken the gearbox out the mk2 golf now as we couldnt decide if it was the box or thrust bearing making a noise so now its out its worth changing to a five speed box.SO after a 5 speed gearbox to fit a 1.3 golf i beleve the code of the box i need is either 085 or 8P, I'm in hampshire and i no me mate has cash waiting.let me no what you have as he would like to get one asap.thanks

I have a gearbox with code CEG, it has the same ratios as the 8P box (so is the same pretty much) apart frmo the fact it has a bolted crownwheel not a riveted one. This allows you to run a limited slip diff should you want to do so.

Its basically identical to 8P except you can't fit an LSD to the 8P.

Its been refurbed fairly recently so I'm after £60 and you can collect, or we can arrange a courier.
