My first vw, surely not my last.

Debating what to do to it, slam it and put some nice wheels on it and get decent stero is first thing i think.

And seeing as I'm addicted to taking pictures having just got the car i thought would be a good idea to make a topic here.

So......

Bagged a bargin really, £100

1987 mk2 golf,

2 previous owners,

Full service history,documents and bill of original purchase,

87k on clock,

Pretty good condition, some surface rust on driver door and rear arch.

Interiour very good condition apart from front seats,the back dont look used ever, boots tidy, dash good condition etc

Few extra bits aswell including some matching paint for touch-ups and keep finding spare VW badges (found 3 now)

Only real bad point is not MOT'd or Tax'd but only failed on a rear brake pipe and exhaust bracker (getting MOTd and work done tommorow morning)

More pics to come, will have plenty stuff to do.....taking out old tape/casette player and getting good sound system first, nothin too fancy tho.

just got golf bk from mot, had to have new rear cylinders and brake pipes, also had new wishbones on front

Looks like a bargain to me! Is it a 1.3? My advise would be buy coilovers for £200 and lower it with a nice set of rims! The rest of the car looks pretty clean i like the small bumpers aswell. Also you should keep an eye out for a golf GL grille exactly the same as the one you have now but with a chrome strip surrounding it you might find one at a scrappys for cheap. I'm sure you have plenty of ideas tho...

yeah i agree lower it and get some alloys and maybe some 90's spec trim. if you need any parts I've us a pm as i have broke a lot of mk2s in the past and have sill a lot of part knocking about.

Got new grill at dubfreeze troday and uploaded some pics took over past few weeks-

Looks sweet. I'd drop it on VR6 steels or that, and a nice oldskool interior, such as a wood rimmed Mountney steering wheel, wooden beaded seat covers, a '76' ball gearknob (or magic 8 ball) and clear indicators and all-red tails... oh and cant forget some pressed plates!! Theres my ideas!

polish it up buy some good condition steelies and keep it classic

this is long gone (sold it for £350), now have this-

must admit part of me wants a mk3 polo. pref GT (would defo go get one now if insurance wasnt going to be sky high, ony £400 on beetle as classic insurance)

Can be improved, going to add performance exhaust and twin carbs, oh and almost forgot!
