Nope, you wire it in parallel mate. That way it'll show the amp 2Ohms, which is the lowest a lot of amplifiers are stable anyway so it's all good :)

Mine is earthed in the wing on the O/S, had no trouble with it. A lot of people use the seat/seatbelt mounts though I think.

Hope that helps,

-Rich

dual 4 ohm means it can be wired either to 2 ohm or 8 ohm all depends what your amp can run at ;)

when it says 2 and 4 ohms, how does it run at these two, better awg wire for more ohms?

the first one the dual 4 ohm sub will be getting 270 rms from your amps 5th channel at 2 ohm

the impedance depends how you wire the 2 coils together dual 4 can be wired to 2 ohm so should run fine

how do i get the 2ohms from the amp thow, is it just a case of something like a 4 or 2 awg power cable for the amp?

no it's the way you wire the 2 coils on the sub to it nothing to do with the amp itself it's the resistance that the subs showing to the amp

  • Author

how do i wire it then inorder to get the 2ohms, thanks for your reply's mbh.

Ben.

you wire both positives of the sub to the positive on the amp and both negatives of the sub to the negative on the amp ;)

then you get 2 ohm :)

thats great. thanks alot mbh, so i have two from + of the sub to one + on the amp, and two from - of the sub to one - on the amp.

sub amp

++ = +

- - = -

Ben.

there are 2 + terminal on a dual voicecoil sub ;) so both the + terminals of the sub to the + terminal on the amps and the same with the negatives

to wire it up to 8 ohm you go amp+ - sub + then the - of the same terminal to the + of the other terminal the the - of that terminal to the - of the amp ;)

i have 5 dual 4 ohm oz audio matrix elite subs for sale i'm after £125 a piece there awesome but i have too much power for them now ;)

specs are on www.directice.co.uk ;)
