pretty much yeah lol.

just always ask them to lower the price and it works. usually get 10% sometimes more depends on the part. things like oil you can get the price right down. paid 11.25 all in for 5 litres of synta last week.

Last time I went in I think I spent £250-300...10% off was a tidy £30. All the parts guys pretty much know Del/Ross/Me now and stick on discount. I think the acctually try to hide when they see us come in as we buy so much!

yeah they do. i wish i could agree with you. am at work every day till 5, so what I'm doing is getting done when i get home, plus I've got a kid on detention tomorrow night so thats another late finish... i can pop on the net on my lunch break but no ' progress' gets done on the net does it

we get on pretty well with our local parts place in Aberdeen, last time i got oil i got 40% discount on it haha

Get 10% off majority of the time as well!

sounds the same as my local dealership, the older fella can find you pretty much anything on etka in a matter of seconds where as theres a younger dude who took over half an hour to find me g60 steels!

as for discount i get trade because of who my dad works for which is nice, every little helps!

Love this G, its ace. We went to VAG today and the parts guy was trying to sound knowledgeable, pass on some help.

"Yeah, you will find it really had to fit those rear axle bushes and maybe even need a good bearing press to get them in'

5 minutes with a hammer proved him to be a complete nugget. Was friendly enough though! Wish id got a discount on those two bushes (£24iirc!)

bit of an update. will add pics asap.

gearbox came back yesterday, needs a bit of a clean just to remove the greasy marks but the diff cups or whatever they are called are rock solid now with very little play unlike before. turns out a spring had snapped inside the box as well so thats been replaced and now has new bearings and seals. MIIIIINT!

get the lambda probe tomorrow and I've picked up a shed load of nuts and bolts to replace rusty shit ones for things like the charger elbow etc.

I am hoping Steve can get my charger back to me early next week with a bit of luck and then its a case of bolting everything back together. I'm soooo missing the boost. my girlfriends 1.2 active sport punto 60bhp is starting to feel quick its been that long

well its all sorted and it wasnt easy. we spent the best part of 90 mins just trying to get the lambda out of the down pipe. in the end it had to come off and be smashed off!!

anyway after a gearbox rebuild, new thrust bearing

powder coated mounts

new bolts for the charger elbow and mounts

new jubilee clips from vag too lol

new gearbox oil

engine oil and filter

charger rebuild

its running pretty sweet apart from a fucked battery this morning. but it has been sitting for almost a month so its fair enough. so a new battery too!

anyway here is a few pics...
