i have diamond black pearlescent paint, but with lots of swirl marks.

what is the best product to use? gonna spend the whole day tomorrow cleanin/polishing the car.

I'm gonna clay bar it after i wash it, with the meguiars kit.

then what is the best polish to use? i have t-cut original metallic (i have just got the car and dont think its been polished before).

i also have turtlewax colour magic plus (dont laugh its not mine!).

anything else i should buy instead?

as for waxing i have a sample of wax that came with the clay kit. and i also have meguirs "next generation tech wax spray".

any help would be appreciated.

i did this at the weekend.

i did:

wash the car and dry with microfibre

clay the whole car

wash the car again and dry with microfibre

and now the answer to you question, i used meguires deep crystal system step 1 and 2 then next gen tech wax applied wih meg's applicator pads and buffed off using a microfibre polishing cloth, the results were amazing, removed alot of swirls and oxidisation from my paint. hope this helps.

whats claying the car? and microfiber?

my red 6n has been cleaned but isnt a nice deep colour like i want, i just always seem to end up t-cutting it with t-cut colour restorer but it only lasts 2weeks before it fades again

did u use the spray or the bottle of the tech wax?

claying makes the paint very clean and smooth as glass. very easy to do and doesnt take a lot of time.

microfibre is a cloth.

Yeah they both do - the £23 one comes with two bars of clay and a box to keep them in, a bottle of quik detalier (the lube), a microfibre cloth and a sample of megs wax. The £12 one comes with one (larger I think) bar of clay and bottle of quik detailer.

T-cut is old fashioned and a heap of crap. Get some Meguiars Scratch-X and some foam applicators. Apply a squirt and work it in until the residue goes clear. It won't remove deep scratches though, only very light ones. You will need a machine polisher if you want scratch free paint. Some polished like Autoglm SRP have fillers in them that can help mask swirls

clay the whole car( best to do a panel at a time)

wash car again

dry car

meguires scratch-x or deep crystal system step one

polish car

wax (more than one layer is ideal, the more you can get on the better, leave 15mins inbetween layers)

sit back and look how amazing your car looks
