Personally, i wouldn't go for 45 or 40 profile if using for a daily driver. They may look good, but ride like crap imho!

I rolled 195/45s and thought they were okay. But then again I thought cup car suspension was okay. Maybe my head and body aren't connected properly though.

Classic comments, I vote 195/45/15 preferably something 195-skinny.

I've had 195/45/14 conti's on some 14x6j and the seem to just drown the wheel and also scrub on the inside upfront, down 60.

My recommendation: Toyo T1R in the above size.

I'm still on the search for 165/55/14 Bridgey Potenza's, holy grail of 14'' tyres in my book. (For 14x6 anyway.)

Unlikely, tend to sit dead square with the edge of the rim.

185 is nie on perfect for a 6J wheel, just unfortunate they don't make a 185/45/14, closest you'll get is a 185/50/14. If your planning to fit them to your squareback then the narrow the tyre the better really, in terms of your rear arches.

As far as i'm aware they don't make 175/45/14, would be nice.

I'm assuming the 195/40/14's you found were conti sport contacts, speaking from experience i think these come up a little large on a 6j and i'm sure you'd have rubbing issues going low on a square back with these.

Couple of pics that may illustrate this a little better, tyre is a 195/45/14 conti but from what i've seen the 40 is just a marginaly lower profile.

To me thats a bit to much rubber to rim, they work and look much better on 7, 8 & 9 inch rims.

Honestly think a 185/50 or 165/55 would suit your application better. Something i learnt quickly is that its not all about width, more about tyre choice and tread patterns.

185/50 is the correct size tyre for a 6J rim. You can fit 195/45 but this really is the widest tyre.
