Easiest thing to check is all the fuses, you could have blown one when you was fitting it, if they are all fine, check your wires are the right way around, check you lives for voltage when the ignition is on and of.

its weird beacuse when i bought the mk3 sqaureback, it came with tape/radio and that was all working. But as soon as i replaced the tape/radio with the headunit, its not working.

hopefully that is whats wrong with it cos i bought the headunit brand new so theres nothing wrong with that.

i wouldnt always go by brand new = must be working i work in halfords fitting head units and you will be surprised how many dont work when u get them outa the box and surprisingly not always ripspeed

its my first car, i dont want things to go wrong already lol

everything connected up properly and stuff

tis hard to get the iso wiring the wrong way round I'm sure its fine probily fuse can happen quite easily... cant say I've fitted in a mk3 polo but I'm guessing its the same wiring as the mk2 or mk3 gold and is usualy connect hte blocks and away you go... except in mk 3 wer you switch iggnition and power over

anyhow mines working.. just those standards speakers are rubbish!!!

and they show u a diagram specifically for volkswagens!

so everything is how it should be

the ceiling light works so its not the fuse

cld it be the bullet connectors????

basically the red and yellow wires need to be going into one slot... different on each heat unit... normally has bullet conectors so you can do this... gues this is wired like a mk2 golf

well mine had 3 wires with bullet connectors but only 2 of them can be connected(1 yellow 2 red). In my manual it says to change these around and it should work. at first i got the power working(red light was flashing on the unit) then there was something to do with the memory. You should get someone to help you hold the radio while you change the wires round so you can see wheter its working or not.

Oh an check the fuse in the back of the stereo.

Did your original radio work? If so then you are just gunna have to keep trying different combinations on the bullet connectors... not much else you can do but take it back to the shop if you cant get it working.

its going back 2moz so i can get a new one :-D

maybe you should buy a different brand incase there is a batch of them faulty.
