I'm currently a provisional driver and i was talking to a friend this morning who has just passed and he said he doesn't need to change his policy until he has to renew it. Is this true?

Also how much does it bump up by once i have passed my test keeping in mind i am on my old mans insurance?

Thanks

yeah you need to change it cause your not a provisional anymore you will have a full license.

i passed on monday, i have a 6n2 1.4 26v polo i was fully comp on provisional for 1700(was best i could find) when i told them i passed they boosted the price to £2900 so had to pay as i was driving around, I'm looking to cancel though and go woth someone else, amnyboduy have any suggestions? also i thought i would mention I'm only 17. cheers. lee

admiral or swift or quinn

try getting a quote from admiral their very cheap but sometimes have problems with their website when getting a quote

I had my own policy with direct line when I passed my test, just rang them and they changed it. No charge either way.

Quinn were charging me £936, 17 year old on a provisional with parents named (1.6l polo)

rang them up when I passed and they wanted me to cough up another £250, paid it but gonna have to have a shop around when it comes to renewing

AMD man, thats a really good price for a just passed 17 year old on a 1.6!

When I told mine it didn't move either way, it seems to vary a lot from one company to another.

My policy didnt charge me anything for passing

1200 on 16v 6n at the time i was 17 that was with frizzel
