id quite happily run them to be honest .... you'd be able to see if the welding etc. isnt up to scratch and as for balancing the tyre fitter would tell you if they werenb't right in that department.... just my opinion though......

A good weld will be as strong as the metal around it. You cant say '1" of weld will hold' as the weld depends on the metal it's welding!

But yeh, they ain't gonna be randomly splitting in half in a hurry.

Unfortunately MrLunatic's blasting man did a runner (scared that the ever-dangerous banded steels would snap in half and sever his neck), and his own equipment wasn't quite up to the job, so I decided to attack the wheels myself with the wire wheel.

So I set about sealing them.

8x13 on top of a 175/65 tyre.... strrrretch. The 175/50s that'll be going on them look wider.

Oh and tried the trim rings on before I stripped them, they'll need a bit of polishing!:

Nahh was a joke aimed at the haters. The guy was going to take them to a chap who does all his blasting for him but he'd disappeared! So he tried himself but it took him an hour to do 1 face with his kit.
